When training helps success. Api presents Gicar

Technological innovation, training and continuous investments. These are the strengths of Gicar, a leading company from Merate in the design and production of electronic boards for the Ho.Re.Ca. (Hotel, restaurant, Cafè) and more.

In a sector dominated by multinationals, Gicar, a company associated with Api Lecco, is known throughout the world thanks to the quality of the product and services offered.

Founded in 1963 as a small artisan company that produced electromechanical accessories for coffee machines, today Gicar can count on over 140 employees, a production area of 3600 square meters and a turnover of over 20 million euros concentrated for 60% on the production of electronics for coffee machines.

The secret? “To treasure tradition to look dynamically to the future and to new markets, responding to the needs of our customers”. So replied the CEO Donatella Arlati, who explained how the “Gicar philosophy” was born from the President and founder Giuseppe Arlati, Grand Official of the Republic and champion of pioneering visions many years ago. The generational continuity, the international mentality, the important presence on the national and global market, the progressive opening up to different sectors, the partnership relationship with customers distinguish Gicar business.

A dynamic and broad-minded company characterized, even in times of crisis, by continuous investments in new technologies for both design and production and the continuous training of its employees.

“In the global context in which we work (Gicar also has customers in China, Taiwan, Brazil and Australia) a good product is not enough. It is necessary to become a partner of the customer to meet all his needs through a fruitful collaboration in terms of consultancy right from the design stage, continuing with constant commitment throughout the production process and with careful and timely assistance – declared Alessandro Ferrario , Gicar production manager – We also have an internal research and development department with more than twenty people able to guide customers choices towards the best solutions and an internal laboratory recognized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research. The professional preparation of employees is one of our strengths “.

In fact, in the last 10 years, 50 courses have been organized, mostly carried out with Api Lecco thanks to funding from Fapi, for a total of over 800 hours of training. In addition to the important issue of safety, the courses dealt with technical and managerial issues necessary for the growth of workers (production planning and management of production departments, commercial area and purchasing management, marketing and human resources management), but there is a lot of space was also reserved for training to motivate employees and make them understand that everyone’s work is fundamental.

“We are a team (some collaborators speak of a” big family “) and to maintain this level of excellence we must invest in our workforce and innovation, but above all we must always look forward. – paraphrasing the title of an old Totò film – Who stops is lost ”concluded Donatella Arlati. Gicar philosophy, winning philosophy.

“Starting from the direct and constant relationship with the associated SMEs, Api has the opportunity to know the training needs of companies. This allows us to offer an adequate and possibly free response, including it in the programs financed by the Fapi Interprofessional Fund, both to the training demand of the individual company, and by proposing inter-company initiatives aimed at all associated SMEs “declared Domenico Calveri, Training Manager of Api Lecco.
